Securing a major television agreement by the end of next year is one of the goals of the World University Games board of directors.
The board approved its budget for next year and set objectives for the year during a meeting Wednesday. The 1991 operations budget projects $4.75 million in revenues and $4.7 million in expenses.
"We are optimistic in expecting well over $1.5 million from the public sector to support this international event," said Games Chairman Burt P. Flickinger.
At the nucleus of the 1991 budget is the local and regional marketing plan, which includes a sales forecast with a potential of total gross marketing revenue of $78 million over the next three years.
