CALL GOES OUT FOR MORE GIFT WRAPPERS

Autistic Services can use some help in wrapping gifts to raise money for its programs, which include education, therapy, advocacy and respite services. Beginning Dec. 14, volunteers will wrap at Thruway Mall in four hour shifts. Call Angela Lagenor at 873-6997 for details.

The March of Dimes also needs volunteers to help with its fund raising activities by wrapping gifts at the McKinley and Main Place Malls from Dec. 14 through Dec. 24. Also, donations of wrapping paper, bows and boxes will be appreciated. Call Lynn Polian at 626-1671.

The Western New York Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation will hold its annual "Rose Day" on Dec. 14 and is seeking persons to deliver gift-boxed roses. Volunteers are asked to make three deliveries to businesses in their area. The red roses are available for a $15 donation and orders of 10 dozen or more will be delivered. Buffalo Psychiatric Center, 400 Forest Ave., is recruiting holiday entertainment for its patients. Performers would be especially welcome between 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. weekdays and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. weekends.

Small gifts, including knit lap covers and slippers; personal hygiene items in plastic bottles; jewelry and certificates for fast food restaurants will be appreciated. Call Tony Simon, coordinator of volunteers, at 885-2261 for information.

People Inc. at Central Park Plaza Developmental Center, 320 Central Park, is collecting like party favors for a party for 150 developmentally disabled adults. Call Kira Eaton at 883-4444.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute is hoping for donations of ethnic cookies, punch ingredients, and yarn to be made into lap robes. Call Karen Synor at 845-5708.

The Northwest Buffalo Community Center, 155 Lawn Ave., seeks three volunteers to help with a party and one person to lead caroling at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 20. The party is for approximately 100 children between the ages of 6 and 12. Needed for the party: candy to fill pinatas; doughnuts and soda for refreshments and new, unwrapped toys.
