LOCKPORT MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CONFRONTATION WITH POLICE

A Lockport man pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted reckless endangerment in a June 17 shotgun confrontation with Lockport police officers.

Robert Spears, 27, of 153 Price St. will be sentenced Jan. 8 by County Judge Aldo L. DiFlorio. Spears was accused of pointing a loaded shotgun at Officers Michael Pillot and Paul Beakman as they tried to arrest him.

In another case, Judge Charles J. Hannigan ordered sentencing Jan. 7 for Steven Durham, 17, of 1807 16th St., Niagara Falls, who pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of third-degree assault.

He was indicted on a second-degree assault count in connection with a May 1 attack on a man in Niagara Falls in which the victim suffered wounds to the head and body.
