STATE FREEZES GRANT FUNDS TO ENCLOSE DEPEW ICE RINK

Mayor Arthur J. Domino told the Depew Village Board Monday that $24,000 in grant funds promised to the village have been "frozen" by the state. The village had planned to use the money to repair and enclose a village ice rink. In other business, the board appointed Village Clerk Joyce M. Rauker as registrar of vital statistics and records management officer.

The mayor said she will not receive additional compensation for serving in those
capacities. The board adjourned the meeting in memory of Monsignor Edwin Fagowski of St. Augustine's Catholic Church, who died Saturday.
