The Orchard Park Symphony will present a Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Orchard Park Middle School, 60 S. Lincoln Ave., Orchard Park. Joseph Wincenc will direct the orchestra and soloists -- oboist Janice Jones and violinist Jeffrey Jones -- in works of Chadwick, Waldteufel, Anderson, Strauss and Bowden, and a traditional carol sing.

The Amherst Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Wincenc will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Amherst Middle School, 55 Kings Highway, Snyder. Harpist Sarah Catlin and the Denny Dancers also will perform.

The Ying String Quartet, ensemble in residence at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, will perform at 7:30 tonight in the Clarence Junior High School auditorium, Greiner Road, Town of Clarence.

The Buffalo State College Percussion Ensemble under the direction of Gary Rutkowski and Robert Accurso will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Recital Hall at Rockwell Hall, Buffalo State College. The Maelstrom Percussion Ensemble, featuring Rutkowski, Accurso and Eric Zak, will be on hand to perform an original composition by Zak.

Postponed until March is Thursday's Shea's Buffalo concert by Nelson, rock duo featuring Gunnar and Matthew Nelson, twin sons of '50s star Rick Nelson. Their tour is being rescheduled.

The 10th Annual Festival of Lights will present the Tennessee Ernie Ford Show, at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center.

Dust off the sandals and the Hawaiian shirt for one last summer fling, the Rock 'n' Roll Barbecue, Friday in Marshall's, 1678 Main St. Dry Bones and the 7th Sons will entertain.

The show with Precious Metal, female metal rockers, scheduled for Friday in the Country Club Skyroom, has been postponed to Feb. 1. The concert Sunday with Hot Tuna has been canceled.

The Friendship House, a center for the performing and visual arts, will present a benefit concert featuring staff and friends at 3 p.m. Saturday in the center, 264 Ridge Road, Lackawanna. The program will feature visual artist and guitarist Alan Kryszak, singer Kilissa McGoldrick, African drummer/dancer Synyer Hanesworth and the Friendship House Dancers.

The Villa Maria College Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Workshop will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the college's Social Hall, 240 Pine Ridge Road.

Jamnesty '90 will feature the Splat Cats, Ground Zero, the Tails, Cannon Street, the Perfect Word, Evil Knievel, Crumbs of Insanity and special guests, from 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Campus Center, Fredonia State College.

The UB Jazz Combo, directed by Sam Falzone, will entertain at 8 tonight in Baird Hall, University at Buffalo North Campus.

Jamestown Community College's rock ensembles will perform selections from the 1960s at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the college's Scharmann Theatre, 525 Falconer St., Jamestown. Bill Eckstrom will conduct.

New concerts announced last week include Buddy Guy, Jan. 4; Gerald Alston, Jan. 5; Larry Coryell, Jan. 12; Ernie Corallo Project, Jan. 17, and Jamie Notarthomas, Jan. 24, all in the Marquee at the Tralf.
