A family graveside service for David W. Wilson, 64, a retired Buffalo police officer, will be held Saturday in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Wilson, a native of Buffalo, moved to Winter Haven, Fla., after retiring from the Police Department in 1985. He died at his home there Nov. 26, 1990.
After serving with the U.S. Navy during World War II, Wilson returned to Buffalo. He worked for a short time at Sears, Roebuck and Co. and then joined the Police Department. He was a desk lieutenant for several years and at the time of his retirement was assigned to central booking.
He was a past commander of Post 1488, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Buffalo and was a life member of Post 8113, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in West Seneca. In Florida, he was a member of the Post 8, American Legion, and Lodge 1023, Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include his wife, the former June Boyer; two sons, David W. of Lockport and Robert C. of Getzville; a daughter, Joyce Grauer of Winter Haven; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
