A GOOD DAY FOR PAUL TO SWITCH

Channel 2 meteorologist Don Paul picked a good day to start his new job as WBEN-AM's meteorologist, too. Monday may have been a motorist's nightmare but it was a meteorologist's dream.

"It was an incredible first day," said Paul, who left WJYE-FM in October after almost two years.

"They decided they couldn't afford me anymore and they did research that showed that people still gravitate to WBEN for news and weather emergencies."

Paul said he initiated the contact with WBEN.

"I want to do radio for a couple of reasons," said Paul. "It is good exposure and the income is important, too."

Paul replaces Carl Nichols, who has been doing forecasts for years for WBEN. Nichols is based in Dayton, Ohio.
