WHAT'S FOR DINNER?

QUICK AND EASY BEEF GOULASH

1cup uncooked macaroni

1pound lean ground beef

1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced

1cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green or red bell pepper

1clove garlic, minced

1can (6-ounce) no-salt-added tomato paste

3/4 cup water

1cup low-sodium ketchup

1small bay leaf

1teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon oregano

1/4 teaspoon basil
Cook macaroni according to package directions, omitting salt. Drain and set aside.

Brown beef with mushrooms, onion, pepper and garlic. Pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer gently about 15 minutes. Add cooked, drained macaroni. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove bay leaf and serve.
