The assistant director of the National Coalition for the Homeless will be in Buffalo Wednesday and Thursday to discuss community solutions to homelessness at two public events.

Michael Stoops, who worked with activist Mitch Snyder on the development and passage of the McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, will speak at a 5 p.m. dinner Wednesday in Our Lady of Lourdes dining room at 1107 Main St., and at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Cathedral, 128 Pearl St.

Stoops' trip is sponsored by the Coalition of Emergency Assistance Providers and proceeds from Wednesday's dinner.
