The Buffalo West Side Rowing Club earned a second place Sunday on the final day of the 107th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.

Sean Hall and Will Porter rallied to finish a half-length behind Tom Bohrer and Raoul Rodriguez of Philadelphia in the six-boat senior pair final.

Other West Side finishes among the 31 senior finals included the coxie four, stroked by Don Smith in fourth position; the 155-pound senior straight four, stroked by Bill Corelli, in fifth, and a fifth in the championship eights, stroked by Ted Murphy.

"This is the best we've done at the Henley in several years," said West Side President Gabe Ferber. "We're not quite back to the glory years . . . but we are definitely aimed in the right direction."
In masters competion, Dr. James McMullen of Buffalo won a gold in the singles event.
