The Peace Bridge will reopen to three lanes of traffic Friday, putting an end to at least one of the Niagara Frontier's summer traffic headaches.
Hubert J. Willis, Peace Bridge operations manager, told the Peace Bridge Authority today that reconstruction of the south lane is basically finished, and full traffic across the international span will be restored sometime Friday morning.
"This job is completed three weeks ahead of schedule," Willis said. "Our contracting engineers and our own staff have done a very good job."
The bridge's center lane will undergo the same reconstruction for several weeks in the fall, beginning just after Labor Day.
