NEWS CARRIER BEATEN, ROBBED ON EAST SIDE

A Buffalo News carrier was beaten and robbed of $153 by three teen-age thugs who jumped him about 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sycamore Avenue and Oberlin Street as he was making his collections, Broadway Station police report.

Morris Thompson, 15, of Oberlin Street suffered a bloody nose in the attack, police said. One of the thugs wore a Mets jacket, red pants and Nike sneakers.
