A 23-year-old man attempting to assault his girlfriend Monday night was stabbed in the back during a dispute with a man who tried to stop him in an apartment at 302 Oakmont Ave., Broadway Station police said.
Ronald Johnson was treated in the Erie County Medical Center for a back wound that was described as not serious.
Charles M. Wells Jr., 25, of 8 Regina Place was arrested at the scene by Officers Marlin Hall and Lisa Thompson on a first-degree assault charge.
The officers said Johnson was assaulting his girlfriend, a cousin of Wells' wife, when Wells tried to stop him. In the struggle between the two, Johnson was stabbed in the back, they said.
