LOAN OK'D TO UPGRADE RESTAURANT IN DUNKIRK

The Dunkirk Local Development Corp. has granted a loan to a Jamestown couple for the renovation and conversion of a restaurant in the D & F Plaza.

Work has begun at the restaurant, Uncle Dudley's, which will be renamed Ribbings. The menu will feature fish, chicken, beef, salads and homemade soups and desserts -- similar to the Davidson's Restaurant in Falconer, also owned by Steven E. and Kay B. Ribbing. The Dunkirk restaurant is expected to reopen by the end of May.

The loan, over 10 years for $45,000, represents 21 percent of the $215,000 project cost.
