JAWBONE UNEARTHED IN YARD WAS DOG'S, EXAMINER SAYS

A jawbone homicide detectives had initially suspected was human turned out to be that of a dog, the Erie County medical examiner's office said today.

The bone was uncovered Thursday in the backyard of 313 Oakmont Ave. by some boys who were digging. Upon first examination, detectives believed the bone could be human. But later, they said the teeth appeared too large to be human.
