Services for David R. Wilson, 89, formerly of Lake Road, a retired farm manager for the Lawton farms, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, 2670 Main St., Newfane. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.
He died Saturday (May 27, 1989) in the Newfane Health Facility after a lengthy illness.
Born in Dumfries, Scotland, he served with the British Army in Russia during World War I.
He moved to Canada, then to this country in 1937. He had been a resident of the nursing home for about two years.
He was a member of Olcott United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ashton; three daughters, Kathleen Benson of Bewdley, Ont., Mary Upton of Barker and Ethel Demmin of Middleport; a brother, John of Scotland; two sisters, Bertha Shimmons and Mary Hillhouse, both of Scotland; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
