CITY'S SCHOOL CHIEF SKIPS BOARD ELECTIONS

Several top officials, including the city's acting schools chancellor, failed to vote in the school board election earlier this month, the New York Post reported Sunday.

It said only 6 percent of eligible voters cast ballots in the May 2 election, and those who skipped the vote included Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer, who had earlier criticized voter apathy and acting Schools Chancellor Bernard Mecklowitz.
