AKRON SETS VOTE ON SCHOOL BUDGET

Akron Central School residents will vote from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday on a proposed $9,676,800 budget for the 1989-90 year and to fill three three-year terms on the Board of Education. The budget is 6.3 percent above this year's spending plan.

Candidates for school trustee are Collette Remington, Suann Zurlo and Thomas Lauridsen. Because the nominees are not opposed, school officials anticipate a light vote.

At a recent meeting, after administrative assistant Richard Binner reported that Akron Central's lunch program this year will lose about $13,000 on sales of nearly $117,000, the school trustees agreed to consider possible remedies, including raising prices.

Currently, Class A lunches cost 60, 70 and 85 cents, varying for different grades.

School Superintendent David W. Fish reported that about 30 Akron students will receive transportation to Williamsville East High School for summer classes this year.
