REV. WILLIAM G. WARTHLING, NCC TEACHER

A Mass of Christian Burial for the Rev. William G. Warthling, 53, of Berkley Place will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ambrose Church, 65 Ridgewood Road. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.

Father Warthling died Friday in Erie County Medical Center after a long illness.

Most recently a Niagara Community College philosophy teacher, he earlier taught through the Consortium of Western New York and at Nottingham Academy.

Born in Buffalo, Father Warthling graduated from Timon High School and received his bachelor of arts degree from Niagara University. He was ordained at Gregorian University in Rome in 1963.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Warthling, and three sisters, Sister Geraldine Warthling of Dade City, Fla., and Joan Roberts and Elizabeth Fanning.
