A cab driver was beaten by about 12 to 15 Niagara Falls teen-agers and nine of them were rounded up by police and residents after a foot chase through a neighborhood Saturday morning.
Police Capt. Jeffrey St. Onge said about 12 to 15 teen-agers punched and kicked cab driver Michael Radar, 22, of Wrights Corners. He had ordered them out of another cab and asked to see their money after they sought a ride to Niagara Falls after an all-night party at Skateland, 1109 Lincoln Ave.
Radar was treated at Lockport Memorial Hospital for multiple injuries. Off-duty Officer Michael Pillot was on security duty at Skateland and witnessed the incident, St. Onge said.
The teen-agers were chased through the neighborhood for nearly a mile and some people came out of their homes to assist, St. Onge said. Six ranging in age from 13 to 15 were turned over to their parents. Charged with assault were Darren Vincent, 16, of 124 Twelve St. and Rashod Black, 16, of 516 Sixth St. Vincent and George Drinks, 16, of 445 Nine St. were also charged with trespass.
