A Mass of Christian Burial for William G. Oswald, 62, will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday in SS. Peter and Paul Church, 5480 Main St., Williamsville, after prayers at 8:15 in the Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, 5541 Main St.
Oswald, who was manager of purchasing for the Dunlop Tire Corp., died Thursday (May 25, 1989) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness. He will be buried in St. Michael's Cemetery, Williamsville.
A 1944 graduate of Bishop Neumann High School and a 1948 graduate of Canisius College, Oswald joined Dunlop as a purchasing agent in 1955. He became manager of purchasing in 1974 and was a past president of the Western New York Purchasing Agents Association.
Oswald was born in Buffalo but lived in Williamsville most of his life. He was a World War II Army veteran.
His wife, Dorothy Hebeler Oswald, died in 1986.
Oswald is survived by four sons, Garret L. of East Amherst, Eric J. and Thomas E., both of Williamsville, and Michael G. of Queens; five daughters, Kimberly Schechter of Amherst, Jacalyn Felmet, Laura Kracker and Martha A. Oswald, all of Williamsville, and Kathleen Shupe of Cheektowaga; two brothers, Leonard of Cheektowaga and Gordon of the Town of Tonawanda, and eight grandchildren.
