TWO CHARGED IN BREAK-IN AT NIAGARA STREET BUSINESS

Two men were arrested Friday during an attempted burglary in a Niagara Street equipment company, police said.

David Scritchfield, 21, of Rhode Island Street and Jonathan R. Rodriguez, 18, of West Avenue were arrested at 12:20 a.m. by West Ferry Station officers, according to police.

The two men were accused of breaking into Sias America Equipment Co., 1274 Niagara St., through a door and taking a calculator and scrap aluminum valued at more than $1,000.

Both men were charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny, police said. In addition, Scritchfield was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, police said, and Rodriguez was charged with possession of burglar tools.
