TROCAIRE COLLEGE GIVES DEGREES TO 223 GRADS AT COMMENCEMENT

A total of 223 graduates received associate's degrees and certificates during Trocaire College's 29th commencement in Kleinhans Music Hall this week. Elizabeth M. O'Donnell, professional ice skater and founder of the Skating Association for the Blind and Handicapped, was awarded the president's medal by Sister Barbara Ciarico during the ceremony.

In her commencement address, Ms. O'Donnell told the graduates to develop trust, respect, caring and enthusiasm -- qualities that have helped enable her and others to enjoy a fuller life.

Nicholas Trbovich, a member of the college's board of trustees, delivered the commencement invocation. The benediction was delivered by Thomas J. Mitchell, associate professor of philosophy and religious studies, who received an associate's degree in nursing during the ceremony.
