Robert A. Holt, 62, a materials handler and driver for SCA Waste Management Inc. on Balmer Road for 12 years, died Friday (May 26, 1989) in his Kenwood Drive home after a brief illness.
Born in Clearfield, Pa., he came to Niagara Falls as a child and lived there until moving to Lewiston 12 years ago.
He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and worked for 24 years at the former Kimberly-Clark Corp., Niagara Falls, before going to work for SCA.
He was a member of the Pierce Avenue Presbyterian Church, Niagara Falls, and a former member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club, Town of Niagara.
Survivors are his wife, the former Moira Burgess; a son, David R. of Rochester; a daughter, Gail Holt-Newbury of Grand Island; a sister, Jean Kragh of Fort Meyers, Fla., and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Cornell & Daggett Funeral Chapel, South Avenue at 10th Street, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
