TWO WOMEN HURT AS CARS COLLIDE OUTSIDE RESTAURANT IN N. BOSTON

A Hamburg woman was seriously injured shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday when she was ejected from her car in a two-car collision on Boston State Road at Creekside Road, North Boston, state police reported.

Joan M. Pfarner, 58, of 5674 Herman Hill Road, Hamburg, was taken by Mercy Flight to the Erie County Medical Center, where she was reported in fair condition today with head injuries.

Ellen W. Backus, 70, of 8823 Boston State Road, Boston, the other driver, was taken to an area hospital, where her condition was unavailable, state police said.

Investigating troopers reported Ms. Pfarner was pulling out of a restaurant parking lot when she collided with the oncoming Backus car. The impact knocked the Pfarner car back up the driveway, jamming the gas pedal, they said.

The car went into a spin, ejecting the driver, and then struck a house, the troopers reported. Ms. Pfarner was issued a summons for failing to yield the right of way.
