A 600-pound carved marble table that has been at 864 Delaware Ave. for about 100 years was reported stolen Thursday, and a reward is likely to be offered for its return.
Hinke Boot, executive director of the International Institute of Buffalo, said Thursday night that she had not previously considered the possibility of a reward but that she is "absolutely" interested in offering one. The table is valued at $5,000.
Mrs. Boot said the table is 5 to 6 feet long, 3 to 4 feet high and 18 inches wide. She described it as looking like "two elephants tail to tail . . . stylized animals," whose backs form the table's surface.
