After 12 years on the City Court bench, Associate Judge Anthony P. LoRusso has announced his candidacy for Erie County Family Court.
"It's time for new challenges," said LoRusso, a Democrat, who is seeking the support of the Democratic, Republican, Conservative and Liberal parties.
LoRusso said he has been active in reforming Housing Court and recommended an alternative sentencing program that won him a state commendation last year when he assigned offenders to clean up the men's lockup facilities at Buffalo Police Headquarters.
He is a founder and the present chairman of the board of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Servicemen's Park.
LoRusso said he has been endorsed for Family Court by Assemblyman Robin L. Schimminger, D-Kenmore; Cheektowaga Town Supervisor Frank Swiatek and the Cheektowaga Democratic Town Committee.
