SCHOOL BUDGET GETS GO-AHEAD IN LANCASTER

Lancaster Central School District residents Wednesday voted 1,372-925 to approve a $28.2 million budget that will increase taxes by 41 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation.

Residents also approved a proposition for the purchase of 11 59-passenger school buses at a maximum cost of $495,000.

Bette Stonebraker was elected to a five-year term on the board to succeed Richard Dattimo.

Thomas Young, an incumbent, was re-elected unopposed to a five-year term.
