MAN'S STAB WOUNDS FATAL IN FIGHT OVER BOTTLE OF WINE

A 28-year-old man died early Tuesday, about two hours after he was stabbed during an argument over a bottle of wine in front of a William Street liquor store, police said.

Andre Hough of 14 Hollister St. was stabbed with a hunting knife at about 11:30 p.m. Monday on the sidewalk in front of S&J Discount Liquor, 378 William, police said. He died at 1:23 a.m. of a wound to the abdomen, according to the Erie County medical examiner's office.

Homicide Bureau detectives said they have a suspect and expect to have him in custody soon. Employees at the liquor store said Hough and his assailant had argued over a cheap bottle of wine.
