Fifteen Niagara County youths participating in the 1989 4-H Club pheasant rearing program will pick up some 1,300 day-old chicks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Wednesday at the Cooperative Extension's Farm and Home Center, 4487 Lake Ave., Town of Lockport.
"The 4-H families will be raising the pheasants in captivity for a period of eight weeks . . . they will be relased into the 'wilds' of Niagara County," Joseph S. Urso, Cooperative Extension agent, said.
The annual program is sponsored by the state Department of Environmental Conservation's John White Game Farm in Basom and the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs.
