Four persons were injured severely in a two-car crash on Route 20 at the Route 219 overpass in the Town of Orchard Park about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, town police said.
James A. Koehler, 42, of 325 Countryside Lane, Orchard Park, identified as the driver of one car, was taken by Mercy Flight to the Erie County Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Sunday evening with multiple injuries, Officers Thomas Buranich and Robert Schultz said.
Daniel L. Larivey, 38, of 719 Breen St., Orchard Park, also a driver, was taken by Windom Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to the same hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries, police said.
Becky Hartman, 27, and her son, Jason, also of 719 Breen and passengers in the Larivey car, were listed in serious condition with multiple injuries in Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Lackawanna.
Police said the Koehler car was going west on Route 20 when it crossed over the center line and crashed into the Larivey car, which was eastbound. The impact of the crash ripped the Koehler car in half, they said.
