MEL ALLEN CITED FOR BOOSTING TOURISM

Mel Allen, the broadcast voice of the New York Yankees, was honored by the New York Power Authority and Niagara Falls Area Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon Thursday at the Niagara Power Vista.

He was cited for his radio commercials promoting fishing and other tourist attractions near the projects operated by the Power Authority. Allen later went fishing in the lower Niagara River gorge.
